Typical week (3/12-3/18)

Weekly sum 3/12-3/18

Last week was just a typical week and nothing really major happened but here are the highlights of the week:

On Monday at the women’s meeting nurses came and checked the women’s blood pressure, blood sugar, weighed us (in kg so I feel like I lost half of my body weight) and prepared a healthy meal while talking about sodium intake and limiting oil. It was a busy day and very informative!

I also started to expand my garden last week, I’ve been shoveling away at the hill in front of my house and planted lavender in small peanut cans and hope to transplant it into the hill once it grows more. … I’m also {attempting} to grow an avocado tree in an empty peanut butter jar, wish me luck.

We started pen-pals in school and will be sending letters to my moms students. My kids are very excited about this and can’t wait to hear about the Americans they’re writing to!

On Friday I went into town and got my protein powder in the mail, woo hoo! Yes this was the highlight of my Friday.

Over the weekend a few volunteers and I also met with an NGO (non-government organization) who specializes in organic farming. It was awesome talking to them, the women’s group is very interested in working with this NGO and attending trainings about organic farming and food processing.

And that was my week, nothing super fabulous or a break through of any sort but it was still a positive week. Each week I can see a more clear vision of where the women’s group is heading and I love it. The women’s group is turning into my main focus and I really look forward to working more with them.

With love and gratitude,

XOXO
