School is back in action! I never thought I’d be happy for school to start, but I am! I’m fresh off of a 7 week holiday of not having much a schedule. I was just bopping around the village saying hi to people and reading a lot of books, doing tons of yoga, and listening to many new podcasts. Don’t get me wrong, I’m the queen of being able to bop to the beat of my own drum but it’s also nice having a little bit of a schedule and more to do.
As excited as I was about school starting, I missed the first few days to attend a women’s entrepreneur workshop hosted by another volunteer. The workshop was a HUGE success and I was thrilled to be able to attend! 30 women were expected to come and FIFTY showed up and stayed the full week of sessions! These women were all about it and excited to be there. There were guest speakers of successful women from Fiji and I found it to be very empowering and a positive atmosphere.
I led two one hour long sessions; one about team work and the other about time management.
Once I got back from the workshop, I went to school the next day and we planned out a schedule. I’ll be attending school Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 10:30 – 3:30 & co-teaching the Healthy Living classes for year 5, 7, and 8. I’ll also be the gym teacher and helping out with the school garden. And every other Wednesday after school (I’m trying to get it to be every Wednesday & possibly twice a week) I’ll be leading the Wellness Wednesday for the teachers and staff with group workouts.
Over the weekend I went into town to video chat my parents and to do some grocery shopping at the market. Then on Sunday I went hiking during the day and in the evening I went to a co-workers (the secretary at school) house and shared a bottle of wine and watched the Prince and Me. Not a bad weekend at all. 💕💕
